[1] We believe in one God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things, seen and unseen.
[2] And in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, begotten from the Father before all the ages,
[3] [God from God,] Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father, through whom all things were made.
[4] For us human beings and for our salvation he came down from the heavens, was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary, and became a human being.
[5] He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death, and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into the heavens and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
[6] He is coming again in glory to judge the living and the dead. There will be no end to his kingdom.
[7] And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Life-giver, who proceeds from the Father [and the Son], who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets.
[8] In one holy, catholic, and apostolic church.
[9–10] We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins; we look for the resurrection of the dead and the life of the age to come. Amen.
